The Space

 

We designed and restored a beautiful and stylish canal house where you will feel comfortable and inspired. Located on the famous canal with the 7 bridges you’re on a really unique spot. Enjoying the silent charm of this romantic canal with the buzzling creativity from this eclectic city.

 

In this house you we created a lovely studio including a living part. Besides you will have the privacy of your own rvs kitchenette and a wealthy bathroom.

Your staying in a stylish setting with a unique social designed interior. Everything is there to give you the feeling you deserve the best and is made to create a better world.

 

The interior is light and pure. The paints used are naturally and honest. The materials are eco and fair. The colours are pure coming from nature.

 

The traditional Amsterdam beams wearing the pigment of hundreds years of existence.

 

The white concrete walls and floors create that natural atmosphere. The floor heating gives you the warmth en comfort you want.

The superb matrasses made from natural latex with eco cotton sheets draped on sustainable quilt guarantees you a deep comfortable sleep.

 

The special designed furniture consists of comfortable lounge benches local made with recycled fabric.  The tables are specially designed from recycled wood coming from benches from a church where many people made ther’e prays. The furniture is made with love by people + at  a social working place.

 

The cushions are fair made in India by hand in little cooperations. With this production the family earns a fair income and are capabel of sed the kids to school. Even the television is socially made with a stylish recycled wood frame. Of course free wi-fi is all over the place. And also the linnen and towels are free.

The cool rvs kitchenette supports you with all the comfort you need and enable you to make a fair trade coffee or tea. All the stylish equipment is available in the horeca cupboard for you.

Next tot that you you find a collection of fair trade and unique vintage pieces. The ceramics named ‘DIK’ are fair made in Thailand from Dutch Designer Piet Hein Eek.

In the pure white concrete bathroom looking in the mirror above the 2 cool sinks you will see your happy face. You can take a relaxed bath in the cosy bath with the design bulbs in the wall. Or take a fresh quick shower in the cool modern shower.

 

Also we offer a washing machine and a hair dryer to complete the comfort setting. We alway put fresh towels and soaps for you.

The interior is designed by JoyJoyJoy Society. The spaces are designed to make you grow on the happiness Index. Grow creating by more happiness instead of more money.  Every spaces has a unique story to inspire your living. Special social designed objects as well as design from Dutch designers gives you a special experience. The spaces are filled with eco-licious  products and social design.

 

With the 4 handels for living  give another meaning at the space. A space is not just a place with objects but a spot where items are part of the space to let you grown on the Happiness Index. And thanks to your stay we create houses in Africa in small communities to create also grow there. A happy space for all the people is our goal.

THE SURROUNDING

Did you know the Amsterdam canals are one of the most sustainable areas in the world? Since ages people live there fruitfully in an environment that creates an ideal atmosphere to comfort the human being. Living in the space you rented your part of that special habitat.

 

You’re staying on the famous canal with the seven bridges. It’s a unique quit area that feels like a village. People living here walk around with there dogs and children play on the street.

Around the corner there is one of the best shopping streets in town. The Utrechtsestraat offers you restaurants, bars and authentic shops that give that unique feeling. Here the real Amsterdam spirit fills the street.

Next to your place there is the secret treasure the romantic square the Amstelveld where the old white wooden church rules and looks over the wide square where the old trees flourish. On the terrace behind the white wooden bench you can join a typical Dutch warm chocolate or a real bitterbal.

 

On the Mondays there is an intimate flower market and in the summer an antique market.

The centre of the centre is 10 minutes walking. There you find all the big shops and the popular Amsterdam touristic must seens.

 

Also the museum district draped around the Museum-square is 15 minutes walk. There you find the famous museums with the Van Gogh Museum, the Stedelijk Museum and the Rijksmuseum. Also the famous Hermitage Museum positioned next tot the Amstel River is in the neighbourhood reached via the romantic white bridge over the river.

But we understand you like also the more hidden treasures like the creative neighbourhood the Pijp where small-scale shops and a lot of restaurants and bars are flourishing which is only 5 minutes walking. Every week new eco, sustainable and special stores and shops are pupping up there.

 

Its all growing around the authentic market the Albert Cuyp that’s operating every day except Sundays. A very inspiring spot. If you want more tips we are there to inspire you. We are in love with our city and like to share it with you!
